This job involves overseeing the front-end operations of a military grocery store, including managing staff, handling customer checkouts, cash control, and stocking shelves with groceries.

This position serves as the second line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store.
The incumbent is fully responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations.

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.
Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Planning, directing or assigning work for employees. Knowledge of multiple departments within a grocery store in order to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers.
Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date: Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods.
(2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
