As a Supervisory Space Management Specialist, you will serve as a section chief responsible for the supervision and oversight of space planning and management activities in your geographic area of responsibility.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/06/2026.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/06/2026.

GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties: Leading a team that is responsible for resolving space management problems that require innovative solutions; Analyzing problems in complex space management transactions and negotiations that involve long-term planning; Executing difficult and complex assignments that involve the efficient and effective use of space assets and resources.

  • Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within the Office of Administration and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
  • Collaborates on the formulation of short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Prepares comprehensive recommendations regarding the development and/or modification of policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensures effective and efficient coordination on lease actions.
  • Oversees the development of in-house cost estimates.
  • Coordinates the preparation of technical planning documents, reports, and justifications.
  • Ensure lessors are complying with the terms and conditions of the lease and deficiencies corrected.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates based on priorities and establishes performance expectations for staff members.
