Summary

This job involves overseeing housing programs for military personnel and their families at an Army base in California, including planning, inspections, policy development, and managing contractor services to ensure safe and suitable living conditions.

Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce, to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

This position is located in Presidio of Monterey, CA with Directorate of Public Works. This is located approximately 85 miles south of San Francisco and 50 miles from Silicon Valley.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with the planning, management, administration, coordination and implementation of housing management programs such as Unaccompanied Housing (UH), Residential Communities Initiative (RCI), or Housing Services Office (HSO).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the first lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Major Duties:

  • Provide technical housing expertise and assistance to garrison Commander/Manager and other installation staff in representing Department of the Army (DA), Army Command, and garrison objectives.
  • Develop garrison policies for all aspects of housing programs.
  • Lead in Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) data collection, analyzes data, and reports submission.
  • Develop and sets performance standards for all subordinates, reviews their accomplishments, counsels them on deficiencies, gives advice and instructions on work and administrative matters.
  • Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), responsible for management oversight; guidance, fiscal policy, and control of contractor owned-government leased quarters as required or appointed.
