You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Supervising a group of adjudicators responsible for administering the eligibility review of all schools that wish to host nonimmigrant students and report changes in students' status in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS); Supervising a group of adjudicators responsible for the review for eligibility of initial certification of schools, recertifications, and update petitions made by schools; and Managing the activities of SEVP School Certification Unit to ensure that they provide customized training, support, and guidance to Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) end-users, and comply with SEVP policies, procedures, directives and associated regulations and statutes.

Major Duties:

  • As a Supervisory SEVP Adjudicator (Section Chief), you will perform the following duties: Supervises a group of SEVP Adjudicators who are responsible for providing technical assistance and direct support to colleges and universities; Serves as a subject matter expert in adjudications of school related petitions; Serving as a subject matter expert in drafting of denials of petitions and withdrawing schools who have violated relevant regulations; and Directs a segment that supports the adjudication process by adjudicating cases, conducting evidence checks, interviewing reference provided in supporting documents by the petitioner.
