Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of Professional Responsibility, in Farmers Branch, Texas.

This is a non-bargaining unit position. Please limit your resume to 2 pages. If more than 2 pages are submitted, only the first 2 pages will be reviewed to determine your eligibility/qualifications.

You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Serving as an expert in applying analytical and evaluative methods to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of policies, and developing and implementing immediate and long-range planning for a personnel security department, unit or division.

Serving as a deciding official on the issuance and suspensions of security clearances/national security eligibility.

Serving as a first-line or second-line supervisor promoting and upholding the integrity of the selection process and equal employment opportunity programs.

Evaluating programs and administrative procedures for adequacy, efficiency, and areas of improvements.

Making decisions on problems presented by employees and resolving group grievances or serious employee complaints. Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Major Duties:

As a Supervisory Security Specialist (Unit Chief), you will perform the following duties: Serve as an authority on the development and ongoing administration of the personnel security process.

Serve as final adjudicator on Notices of Determination for applicants who do not meet the requirements for access to national security information.

Continually evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of personnel security unit programs, operations, work methods, and techniques.

Collaborate with senior management officials to determine the budget, procurement, and allocation of staff resources to support the program.

Support the agency's affirmative action and equal employment opportunity program and goals.
