Job Description

Summary

This senior-level job involves leading the analysis and management of data for crop insurance and risk management programs in agriculture, including developing tools to support decisions and providing expert guidance on policies.

It requires frequent travel to various worksites as part of mobile work.

Full Job Description

This position is located in the Risk Management Agency (RMA), This position is located in the Risk Management Agency (RMA), Deputy Administrator for Compliance (DAC), Business Analytics Division (BAD).

This position is designated as mobile work.

Mobile work is a condition of employment and is characterized by routine and regular travel to conduct work in customer or other worksites as opposed to a single authorized alternative worksite.

Time-in-Grade Requirement: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.

Specialized Experience Requirement For the GS-15 level: One full-time year of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service.

to develop and enhance analytic capabilities; 2) experience serving as a data analyst to research and gather data, performing studies to assess agricultural program activities and recommend improvements on issues related to program regulations, policies, practices; 3) applying expert knowledge of crop insurance programs, policies, procedures, regulations an or business support systems applicable to crop insurance, reinsurance, or risk management to execute and control projects that represent an important segment of the Risk Management Agency's operating programs and/or projects.

  • Provides national policy guidance and administration over the acquisition, storage, and analysis of strategic management data for multiple peril crop insurance programs and other risk management products.

  • Develops data profiles and decision support systems.
  • Provides research and analysis of data on existing and proposed risk management products and services to include crop insurance policies, procedures, and new risk management programs to assess the vulnerabilities and efficiencies of these products.
  • Provides direction and serves as technical liaison for Risk Management Agency program activities, assisting in resolution of problems or controversial program issues at the national level.
