About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation located on Peterson SFB and is a Regular Part Time (RPT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave) Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test and a pre-employment physical.
Must be able to lift items weighing 40 pounds or more. This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualifying Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience supervising employees is highly desired. At least 1 year of experience working in a rental operation is required.
Experience should demonstrate the ability to plan and establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward achievement.
Must have demonstrated computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Point of Sale system software.
Organizational skills to include managing inventory and progressively responsible office/paperwork management is preferred. Must possess a current binding certification. Major Duties:
Manages all aspects of the Outdoor Recreation Equipment Rental and Loan Programs.
Supervises and trains Recreation Aids, Recreation Assistants and Lead Recreation Assistants in the day-to-day operation of the Rental and Loan Programs.
As a working manager, performs the following types of lead duties: Provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments; relays instructions from the ODR Director or Assistant Director for work assignments; gets the work started and sets the work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance; ensures that the worksite materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security and safety rules.
Reports all safety violations to immediate supervisor. Enforces established operating policies and procedures.
Issues rental equipment, checks equipment for damage and instructs patrons on the proper use of the equipment. Enters data into POS system for rental inventory, issuing and receiving.
Prepares skis for rental to include mounting bindings, waxing and sanding. Assists with maintenance, repair and cleaning of all recreation equipment issued.
Assists the RV Lot manager with payments for the Recreational vehicle (RV) lot. Assists in reviewing financial statements and end of the month equipment inventories for accuracy with the ODR Director.
Resolves customer complaints in accordance with established procedures. Actively seeks win-win solutions to differences between staff and customers, and shows willingness to compromise.
Works under the direction of the ODR Director and Assistant Director who makes assignments, approves leave and reviews performance appraisals.
Shows initiative by seeking additional assignment from shift supervisor immediately after completion of previous assignments. Adapts and supports changing program objectives with a positive attitude.
Assists in selling ski lift tickets and all related outdoor retail equipment, following required cash handling procedures and accountability.
Prepares daily cash reports and deposits money on a daily basis. Assists with making reservations for all rental equipment and tickets.
Assists in planning and scheduling recreation programs and special events (i.e., winter adventure day, spring fling, fall fest, etc.) for the Outdoor Recreation Center.
Plans, prepares, and implements Outdoor Adventure Programs (OAP) to include special Air Force programs (i.e. Beyond the Trail). Recruits and trains volunteers to assist in OAP trip implementation.
Oversees/accompanies OAP trips when necessary. Drives vehicle to various sites. Performs other related duties as assigned.
