A qualified candidate must possess the following: Directly related work experience that included the goals, principles, method of techniques of outdoor recreation and understanding the interest of individuals and groups.

Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs.

Work experience supervising support staff in outdoor recreation programs. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Highly Preferred Qualifications: 1.

One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing a department or agency responsible for delivering program models designed to maximize Soldier, Retiree, Family, and Civilian adaptability, to promote-self-reliance, and Readiness.

2.

One year or more experience utilizing a variety of fiscal and budgetary data and service statistics for planning, preparation and execution of Outdoor Recreation activities, (ODR) programming & budgets.

3. Two years or more experience creating inclusive outdoor recreational programming for Soldier, family members, retirees, civilians and other authorized MWR patrons.

One year experience utilizing Point of Sale software (such as REC TRAC) modules for generating reports, maintaining inventory controls and program operations.

  • Responsible for the overall management for a year-round facility that includes lodging units, camp sites, marina, rental docks, playgrounds, swimming, nature trails, picnic pavilions, picnic table sites, and a fully equipped administration office.
  • Administers the business, financial, and recreational operation of the park. Maintains an accurate account of daily sales revenue, operational funds, fixed assets, and property. Formulates feeder information for both APF and NAF budgets.
  • Provides an ongoing education program designed to promote the rational use and sound protection and conservation of the natural resources and various facilities involved.
  • Develops periodic program plans and annual budget requirements with supporting data for inclusion in overall program plans formulated at higher organizational levels.
  • Assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinate employees; training and development of employees; evaluates performance; recommends selections, status changes and disciplinary actions; plans schedules, and coordinates work operations.
