A qualified candidate must possess the following: Work experience that included the goals, principles, method of techniques, of outdoor recreation and understanding the interests of individuals and groups.
Work experience planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs.
Work experience supervising support staff in outdoor recreation programs. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.
Preferred are those applicants that possess a Certified Leisure Professional through National Recreation and Park Association and work experience as indicated above and a bachelor's degree in the recreation/outdoor program areas.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in an outdoor recreation, recreation or management field OR have a minimum of 2 years' work experience in next lower grade in an outdoor recreation field.
