Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROJECT WORK INTEGRATION SUPERINTENDENT in the Office of Operations Manager (300.1), Operations Department (300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with ship repair, project management fundamental, planning, integration, scheduling, and execution strategics.

Experience in naval shipyard operations, production, management techniques and concepts.

Experience utilizing location, capacity, capability, and availability of facilities and services of naval industry. Experience with ship drawings, plans, and specifications.

Experience reviewing contractor engineering specifications involving multiple engineering disciplines.

Experience with ships, shipboard systems, interrelationships between ship systems, and their operating requirements.

Experience with government contracting, including both award and administration of contracts that directly support shipyard work.

  • You will be responsible for the coordination and integration of work performed by Alteration Installation Teams (AITs), contracts, Ship's Force (SF), and other major continuous maintenance availability.
  • You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with SF, contractor sponsors, and contractor supervision and leadership of the various maintenance organizations responsible for NSW.
  • You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and capability of employees.
