This job involves overseeing childcare staff and programs at a military child development center for kids aged 0-5, ensuring safe and engaging activities while managing schedules and staffing.
It's a supervisory role where you'll lead teams, handle daily operations, and step in for directors when needed.

This position is located at Madigan Child Development Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Morale Welfare & Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours) First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Resumes must be two pages (or less).

A qualified candidate must possess the following: -For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.
OR (QUAL 2) A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above.
In addition to meeting one of the requirements above (QUAL 1 or QUAL 2), all candidates must also possess all of the following: 1.
Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs. 2. Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs. 3.
Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum. 4.
Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar.
Highly qualified candidates will submit resumes reflecting at least 1 year experience with Child & Youth Services as either a Supervisory Program Specialist, or Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant.
