The North Florida South Georgia VA Healthcare System's Specialty Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisory Program Specialist.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/04/2026.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Major Duties:
The incumbent will serve as the Supervisory Program Specialist and the Position is in the Office of Chief of Medical Specialties Service Line of NF/SGVHS.
He/She is the Administrator for Clinical Operations, reporting to the Chief of Medical Specialties Service Line.
NF/SGVHS is a highly complex 1A tertiary healthcare organization comprised of two VA Medical Centers with seven off-site locations of care, three large VA Outpatient Clinics, and ten Community Based Outpatient Clinics, spanning approximately 32,000 square miles throughout Northern Florida and Southern Georgia.
She/he serves as a key resource for the NF/SGVHS Medical Specialties Service Line, works with other Executive Leadership, administration staff, and Service Line Management to review, plan, advise, and coordinate the delivery of Medical Specialty care throughout NF/SGVHS including the Gainesville and Lake City inpatient medical centers, and Tallahassee, Jacksonville, and The Villages outpatient clinics.
The Supervisory Program Specialist has Supervisory oversite of staff and is recognized as a non-clinical expert in the field of Medical Specialty Care and serves as a key resource for the NF /SGVHS in the delivery of medical programs to Veterans.
Medical Specialties Service Line provides the majority of inpatient hospital care at both the Gainesville and Lake City inpatient medical centers, and also provides outpatient clinical services, outpatient medical specialty procedures, and telehealth services through Connected Care video modalities including Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) and Store & Forward Telehealth (SFT); these programs include Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, Allergy & Immunology, Respiratory Therapy, Rheumatology and Patient Care Coordination.
Duties include but are not limited to: Supervise and manage personnel of Medical Specialties Service Line clerical and administrative staff through performing or overseeing a full range of human resources requirements.
Interpret policies and regulations, such as those governing the allocation and distribution of personnel, supplies, equipment, and other resources, while promulgating program guidance across organizational lines and in varied geographic locations.
Provide authoritative advice on program content, set up new or experimental programs, create action plans and new policies/guidelines, and negotiate and elicit workable agreements to correct problems where there are program weaknesses, but no guides to follow in assessing and correcting them.
Develop and advise on guidelines which will include the whole range of actions, relationships, standards, and plans.
Understand organizational development, and organizational leadership, develops, leads, consults, and collaborates with colleagues to conduct surveys, research, and program assessments.
Collaborate with leadership in the development of short and long-range planning for future growth and development of the Medical Specialties Service Line.
Serve as project officer responsible for the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of major program operations throughout NF/SGVHS.
