Base salary range: $104,604 - $135,987

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team that oversees safety, training, audits, and operations for the Navy's weight handling programs, including cranes and heavy equipment at naval bases.
You'll direct audits across hundreds of Navy sites, provide expert advice on these programs, and analyze data to improve policies and standards.
It's a great fit for someone with deep experience in Navy engineering oversight, especially in managing budgets, acquisitions, and high-stakes programs like nuclear propulsion.
You will serve as a Director of Operations Oversight Department of Navy Crane Center - NCC.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as an experienced Navy weight handling program professional; 2) Performing oversight of weight handling programs and applying knowledge of weight handling program requirements (NAVFAC P-307); 3) Applying experience with Navy crane acquisition and overhaul processes; 4) Navigating Navy budget processes; 5) Supporting or coordinating the support of emergent requests to support the Navy weight handling program.
6) Conducting evaluations and assessments of sensitive/critical Navy weight handling programs, e.g., Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, Strategic Systems Program; and 7) Familiarity with internal quality assurance processes to support a self-critical Navy weight handling program.
