Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER in the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Systems, Acquisition Group, and Program Management Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

The duty location of this position is Patuxent River, MD.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band (NM-03) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; and 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.

  • You will serve as a supervisor and IPTL providing technical and administrative direction.
  • You will be responsible for overall management, direction/control of acquisition, development, integration, testing, production, fielding, and life cycle support of major platforms, weapon systems, sub-systems, support systems and training systems.
  • You will manage and support the team to achieve program technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • You will identify program office and other discipline area support needed to meet assigned program requirements.
  • You will direct the development of comprehensive plans to ensure fulfillment of technical, cost schedule, and performative objectives.
  • You will coordinate with appropriate interface segments of the program with other program managers and management officials and with higher authorities.
  • You will evaluate program documentation to ensure the needs of the program are consistent with sound business practices .
  • You will evaluate work performance of team members and provide inputs to Group Leaders and supervisors on performance of IPT members.
