Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team that handles the financial side of military and interagency engineering projects for the U.S.

Army Corps of Engineers, including managing budgets, approving spending, and ensuring funds are used correctly for projects in the U.S. and abroad.

Key Requirements

About the Position: Serves as Chief of the Program Management Support Team, Military Project Management Branch providing supervision and technical expertise necessary to manage the fiscal functions of the Military, Interagency (CONUS) and International and Interagency (OCONUS) Project Management Branches.

Reviews and validates funding and appropriations requirements for processing of purchase requests and obligations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) overseeing the fiscal resources of projects funded with Civil Works appropriations, under MILCON appropriations or Interagency (CONUS) / International and Interagency (OCONUS) projects funded within Department of Defense and other Government Agencies; 2) providing accurate data in P2 for resourcing projects and the quality of data reported for compliance with HQ USACE Command Consolidated Guidance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial Management Planning and Evaluating Problem Solving Teamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for management of the fiscal resources of projects funded under MILCON appropriations including Department of Defense and military projects funded with other military appropriations, such as OMA, Working Capital, FMS and NAF.
  • Responsible for management of the fiscal resources for Interagency (CONUS) and International and Interagency (OCONUS) projects funded within Department of Defense and other Government Agencies.
  • Prepares or reviews necessary documents authorizing the expenditure and obligation of funds that have been received.
  • Assures accurate and timely resourcing is accomplished to commit and obligate funding received for the District’s Military, CONUS Interagency and OCONUS Interagency programs.
