Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii, Directorate of Emergency Services. Hawaii is a beautiful state, but has a high cost of living.

Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year round including surfing, paddling, diving, fishing, and hiking.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of law enforcement, physical security and force protection to include search and seizure; performing a variety of traffic control duties AND; completing and documenting reports/forms as necessary to explain the facts surrounding law enforcement actions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Major Duties:

• You will be responsible for managing and supervising all law enforcement officers assigned in accordance with the patrol distribution plan and desk operations on an assigned shift.
• You will monitor radio transmissions for proper procedures and follows established procedures to initiate action for assistance.
• You will be responsible for reviewing law enforcement reports and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy to include substantiating charges.
• You will plan work, prepare schedules for completion of work, distribute and balance the workload among employees and guides employees in specific tasks and job techniques, provides on-the-job training to new employees.
• You will respond to and investigate emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
