This job is for a lead police officer who oversees and runs law enforcement activities at an Army base in Alaska, making key decisions on operations, training, and resource use.
It involves planning patrols, managing staff, and advising base leaders on security matters.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The incumbent will be technically & administratively responsible for law enforcement operations performing a range of managerial tasks in planning, managing, directing and evaluating law enforcement operations with full authority to make decisions and commit to a course of action.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes which includes directing elements of law enforcement operations; supervising or critiquing the training of law enforcement personnel; providing guidance based on a broad range of knowledge of law enforcement laws and regulations; determining law enforcement resources based on operational need; analyzing the effectiveness of law enforcement response; planning patrol activities in accordance with specified threat activity; compiling detailed reports and presenting briefings to leadership.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Major Duties:
