This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position serves as Police Watch Commander and Police Duty Officer for the Fort Wainwright Directorate of Emergency Services, Law Enforcement Division.
As the Watch Commander you are responsible for directing police patrols and coordinating the overall Law Enforcement Program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) conducting law enforcement duties to ensure the protection of life, property and civil rights; 2) enforcing a wide range of law enforcement/security laws, traffic codes, regulations, directives, and procedures 3) conducting investigations to detect and apprehend individuals committing suspected illegal acts, such as acts of violence, theft of property, or for violating laws concerning controlled substances; 4) training police officer personnel in crime prevention, law enforcement and physical security policies and procedures.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Major Duties:
