This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position serves as a Supervisory Police Office with the US Army Installation Management Command, US Army Garrison, Directorate of Emergency Services, Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes supervisory law enforcement work directing the activities of subordinates engaged in the protection of life, property, and the civil rights of citizens, developing supervisory performance standards, coordinating support resources when activities cross lines of jurisdiction, performing complex criminal investigations, implementing systems to ensure law enforcement patrols are in compliance with police standard operating guidelines, analyzing the effectiveness of police response, and compiling detailed reports and presenting briefings to leadership.
The OPM Qualification Standard states experience must have provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Applicants who are current Federal employees or who are eligible for Reinstatement may be able to qualify with experience equivalent to the second lower grade, GS-09.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
