This position is located in Pentagon Press Operations, Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of War (Public Affairs) (OASW(PA).
The ASW is the principal advisor to the Secretary of War for the Department of War public information, internal information, community relations, public affairs professional development and audiovisual matters.
The incumbent will serve as supervisor of the Public Affairs Operation Support Team, reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Pentagon Press Operations.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to: Lead efforts of a professional staff of various subject matter specialists that provides administrative support; Provide organizational management, developing administrative procedures, overseeing processes, and writing and implementing administrative guidance; Oversee audio visual facilities, managing a briefing room support team; coordinating press escort and accesses; and Develop and publish multiple public affairs products regarding Department operations; and FOIA response management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Providing organizational management, developing administrative procedures, overseeing processes, and writing and implementing administrative guidance to the Pentagon Press Corps.
Oversees the audio visual facilities of the Pentagon Briefing Room and managing the Pentagon Briefing Room Support Team Researches, writes, reviews, coordinates, and edits material proposed for public release to ensure accuracy, clarity, completeness, timeliness, and consistency with Department policies and in conformity with information security regulations.
Reviews and interprets policies, program guidance and objectives relating to assigned responsibilities and translates into operational management methods, systems, and operations.
Directs personnel in the accomplishment of assigned functions by breaking overall functional responsibilities into assignments based upon qualifications and capabilities, urgency of work assignment, and established program objectives.
