Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team that monitors and ensures high-quality services for unaccompanied children and refugees, including conducting reviews of service providers and enforcing federal rules to protect vulnerable populations.
A good fit would be someone with experience in social services or behavioral sciences who enjoys supervising teams, solving compliance issues, and working on humanitarian programs in a government setting.
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia.

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B.
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C.
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
AND Specialized Experience You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Providing strategic and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team overseeing services for unaccompanied alien children or refugee populations, including supporting team priorities, onboarding staff, and optimizing staff resources to ensure effective program execution and mission delivery.
Overseeing comprehensive on-site compliance reviews of service providers, identifying deficiencies, issuing corrective action reports, and ensuring compliance with federal standards governing services to vulnerable children and/or refugee populations.
Interpreting and enforcing federal statutes, regulations, licensing standards, cooperative agreements, contracts, and grant terms to determine program compliance, assess operational feasibility, and direct corrective actions for children and refugee settlement program Documenting experience: IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Monitoring Program Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Planning, organizing, and directing the activities of a work unit within the Division of UAC Monitoring, ensuring that work activities, initiatives, etc., comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
