Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team of technicians who calibrate and repair testing equipment for the Navy's ships and systems to keep the fleet ready for action.
You'll handle planning, scheduling, and solving tricky problems in a lab setting at a naval shipyard in Virginia.

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Metrology Calibration Center (MARCC)(Code 137), Metrology Laboratory Branch (Code 1373), Quality Assurance Office(Code 130), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of metrology theory and applicable principles, including the calibration and repair of higher level Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
Experience supervising, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing mechanical and electronic calibration technicians in support of Fleet readiness.
Experience identifying and analyzing the latest developments in metrology to solve organizational issues and ensure the effectiveness of Test and Monitoring Systems (TAMS).
Experience planning, coordinating, and verifying the adequacy of calibration capability when compared to customer requirements across various measurement disciplines.
Experience addressing and resolving conflict, accurately evaluating employees, and identifying and providing appropriate training and resources they may need.
