Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Marine Transportation Specialist in the Deputy Installation Program Director ofNAVSTA GTMO.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing the Port Operation Installation Program in accordance with federal, state, and local maritime laws, regulations, documentation, and reporting requirements; 2) Planning, designing, and carrying out programs, projects, or other work for the installation; 3) Monitoring the operation of waterfront activities and assets (e.g., port control, service craft, fleet assets) to support port service requirements; 4) Enforcing and monitoring standards of service to ensure timely provision of Port Operation functions.

5) Working as a certified COR or be able to attain prior to starting position. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.

  • You will monitor the operation of waterfront activities and assets (e.g., port control, service craft, fleet assets) to support port service requirements.
  • You will establish transportation processes and functions to achieve improvements in the overall performance of ship operations.
  • You will explain program related issues affecting ship operations and management.
  • You will advise on merchant ship capabilities and limitations (e.g., ship configuration, installed equipment, capabilities) in support of fleet units or mission sponsors.
  • You will serve as Contracting Officer’s Representative for the Port Services Contract. You will approve and recommend expenditures in support of maintenance/repair of waterfront assets (service craft, boats, equipment).
  • You will act as Department Head in absence of Port Operations Officer.
