This job involves leading a team to plan and oversee large-scale IT systems for the Navy's education and training command, focusing on strategy, budgeting, security, and aligning technology with business goals.
It requires managing resources, ensuring compliance with regulations, and representing the organization at high levels.
A good fit would be an experienced IT leader with strong management skills, a background in government or defense IT, and the ability to handle complex projects and teams.
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) of the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (N6) of NAVAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMAND.
Qualifications Basic Requirements: Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Provides executive-level strategic direction, developing enterprise-wide policy, governance and aligning technology with organizational business goals within a complex organizational regulatory framework.
2) Directs the entire lifecycle of large-scale IT programs and resources, including budgeting, procurement, and the integration of new and legacy systems to support mission-critical operations; 3) Leads a large, multi-disciplinary IT workforce through executive oversight, strategic personnel management, and robust employee development programs to foster a high-performing and compliant organization; 4) Directs enterprise IT architecture, ensuring robust cybersecurity, protecting sensitive information (PII) and maintaining compliance with all federal, DoD, and Navy information security mandates; and 5) Represents the organization and negotiates effectively at the highest levels of government and industry, influencing senior leaders to secure resources and gain acceptance for major IT programs and policies.
