The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor and Division Chief of the Cyberspace Support Division, performing supervisor responsibilities for supervisory employees assigned to the Division.
The position is responsible for overseeing Federal, DoD, HAF, &16 Air Force, cybersecurity standards and procedures for classified/ unclassified Air Force Information Technology (IT).
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions for the GS-2210, Information Technology (IT) Management Series (Alternative A).
Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. 1.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

Incumbent exercises the highest degree of originality, sound judgment, flexibility, and innovation in interpreting the intent of the guides that do exist and in developing applications to specific area of work.
Incumbent uses sound judgement, initiative, and ingenuity in applying guidelines to work center processes, and may need to make major or novel adaptations to accomplish mission objectives.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

Expert knowledge of a wide range of IT computer systems and related computer concepts, principles, and practices related to DoD cybersecurity practices and Defensive Cyberspace Operations. 2.
Knowledge of agency, AF, DoD, and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives pertaining to IT/IS systems. 3.
Expert knowledge of current DoD Defensive Cyberspace Operations; DoD network information system operations; and DoD computer security policies, procedures, and directives to enable interpretation and development of DoD and Command policies, procedures, and strategies governing cybersecurity.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4.
Expert knowledge of IT security concepts, principles, and practices sufficient to develop solutions to complex cybersecurity issues, and to evaluate cybersecurity impacts within both existing DoD environments and emerging information technologies.

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization to meet program requirements and organization objectives within available resources; ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers and mission partners, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely sufficient to convey complex technical information to varying audiences using verbal, visual, and written communication methods. 6.
Ability to coordinate activities associated with ensuring the rigorous application of cybersecurity principles and to lead, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
Comprehensive ability to recognize problems and trends, gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, conduct analysis, devise recommended solutions, and package as a product into briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.
CONDTIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: 1.
Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. 2.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. 3.
Cybersecurity Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes cybersecurity work as a paramount duty requirement.
The incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate cybersecurity certification within six months of assignment of these duties. 4.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
DUTY 1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activity of the division ensuring the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of IT/IS and data assets across the Air Force Enterprise.
DUTY 2: Executes supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
DUTY 3: Serves as a Senior IT Specialist and technical expert representing the organization where required during cybersecurity forums, DoD-level working groups, interagency and service visits, professional DUTY 4: Provides policy and technical guidance across the organization in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for effective planning, programming, budgeting, and management of IT/IS modernization, information/data administration, and other Communications and Information efforts.
DUTY 5: Performs other related duties as directed to support the organization. Serves as expert planner, management analyst, and advisor on annual/multi-year and long-range planning.
