Summary

This job involves leading cybersecurity efforts for the Navy's information warfare systems, ensuring networks, systems, and applications stay secure and follow government rules.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Implementing enterprise-wide information security programs that safeguard critical assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and/or enable capability growth; expertise that spans cybersecurity risk management, threat intelligence, incident response, and/or security architecture that aligns with security strategies to organizational objectives.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Command Information Security Officer, coordinate with the Command Information Officer and the Chief Engineer to ensure the portfolio of networks, systems and applications are compliant with cybersecurity policies and directives.
  • You will establish, enforce, and exercises command-wide authority for NAVWAR cybersecurity policy, standards, and governance across Headquarters, PEOs, NIWCs and subordinate organizations.
  • You will coordinate timely NAVWAR evaluation and responses to cybersecurity tasking and requests for information, document reviews, etc. received from higher echelons via Echelon I ETMS2 system, message traffic, email, etc
  • You will lead NAVWAR Risk Management Framework (RMF) Package Submitting Office in coordinating, prioritizing, scheduling, enforcing standardization, and performing quality assurance reviews of all NAVWAR RMF packages.
  • You will hold enterprise accountability for NAVWARs cybersecurity risk posture, including recommending and validating risk acceptance decisions impacting mission execution, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.
  • You will lead and coordinate NAVWAR enterprise cybersecurity reporting in VRAM, eMASS, and other authoritative data sources.
  • You will monitor and enforce NAVWAR portfolio (networks, systems/programs, and applications) compliance with cybersecurity policies and standards.
