Summary

This job involves leading a team that helps auditors, investigators, and evaluators access IRS systems and data to support oversight of tax administration.

Full Job Description

The incumbent of this position reports to the Chief Data Officer and possesses extensive, unique, and in-depth knowledge and experience in the areas of IRS systems and data access.

The purpose of this position is to lead a directorate that serves to provide access to IRS systems and data needed by auditors, evaluators, and investigators to accomplish TIGTA's mission You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-15, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Identifying and analyzing data and systems that are necessary for auditors, evaluators, and investigators to meet their mission; AND - Working with other IT officials to resolve barriers to accessing data and systems; AND - Developing policies, procedures, and relevant training for analyzing and managing data and system access; AND - Engaging senior executives to reach agreement on or consensus about complicated policy considerations through effective written and oral communication.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

TIGTA employees will remain at assigned duty location as long as they are located at any TIGTA core office.

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (DATAMGT), you will: - Provide advice, counsel, and instruction to subordinates on work processes and administrative matters.

- Share knowledge and expertise related to security requirements and/or needs of information technology systems and data contained within these systems, as well as best practices for storing, managing, and analyzing data.

- Provide leadership and direction ensuring that the appropriate safeguards and protocols are in place to protect data/information in accordance with OMB and Treasury security guidelines.

- Oversees the efforts of subordinates in extracting, transforming, and loading data; conducting data analytics; creating visuals; statistical sampling; and other technical projects to identify potential control weaknesses, challenges to the IRS or integrity weaknesses.

- Serve as a Senior Information Technology (IT) Advisor and recognized expert in system access strategies.
