THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2467P01 and is part of the PA Deputy Chief of Staff G6, National Guard.

1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the Deputy Chief of Staff G6 AOC 2: NG employees in the Deputy Chief of Staff G6 AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes M-Day Soldiers, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG Military Grades: OFFICER O2-O6 Supervisor for this position is COL Smith *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Secret Security Clearance *NOTE: If you're a new supervisor in the Federal Government civil service, you may have to complete a one-year probationary period.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process.

Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization.

Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls.

Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment.

Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.

Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying.

Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed.

The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

SPECIAL NOTE: Per the Merit Promotion and Placement Plan (MPP) if there are more than 15 qualified applicants for each position, by category, a KSA board will be convened in accordance with Chapter 4 of the MPP.

Major Duties:

As a SUPV IT SPECIALIST, GS-2210-13, you will supervisor and senior team lead for mission command division. Report and visibility.

Maintain effective rapport with subordinate unit G6/S6 personnel, and agency representatives, ensure unified efforts in communication support.

Support readiness through interactions with both supported units and supporting agencies. Subject Matter Expertise and currency.

Provide or coordinate training to subordinate personnel to maintain their proficiency on systems specific to the supported units. Perform other duties as assigned.
