Summary

This job involves leading a team of IT professionals to manage technology strategies, projects, and security for a defense audit agency, ensuring everything runs smoothly and meets government rules.

It's about overseeing big-picture IT plans, briefing top leaders, and making sure tech supports the agency's mission.

Basic Requirement: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position.

Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.

Customer Service- experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs.

Oral Communication- briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience.

Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must have one year specialized experience at the GS-14 or equivalent level.

Specialized experience is defined as: Providing senior leadership and managerial direction in the execution of the organization's enterprise technology strategy, with direct responsibility for IT governance, service delivery, cybersecurity, and resource management, including deep familiarity with financial management principles and support for audit missions; Ensuring all operations complied with governing policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Provide strategic oversight for a portfolio of interdependent IT projects, integrating all schedules and deliverables while applying rigorous program governance and life cycle management to ensure strategic objectives are achieved.
  • Develop the strategic roadmap, setting team priorities, and driving high performance to ensure technology aligns with and accelerates agency goals.
  • Briefs senior leadership and external partners on complex technical and strategic topics to influence outcomes, secure funding, and negotiate agreements.
  • Exercises full supervisory authority over IT staff directing work, evaluating performance, and managing the talent lifecycle while serving as the agency's senior representative in high-level engagements with partners like the Department of Defense
  • Directs IT governance, compliance, and capital planning under federal regulations; manages the tech portfolio using key performance metrics to evaluate operations and ensure full compliance.
