Summary

This job is for a lead IT project manager in the U.S. Marine Corps, where you'll oversee teams handling IT communications, data centers, and projects while creating policies and managing budgets.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Facilitate discussions regarding processes, procedures, and technologies related to information and knowledge management.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation. Major Duties:

  • You will be the central point of coordination for all functional areas supporting daily Information Technology and Communications (IT/C) operations and future planning.
  • You will plan and direct the delivery for the Command and Control (C2) systems and networks and major components.
  • You will provide expert advice on the management, operation, and maintenance of complex communications systems to transport voice, data, and video.
  • You will provide leadership and work direction for the IT/C team and direct organic resources, as required.
  • You will recommend strategies to address specific IT/C services, connectivity, and related training.
  • You will coordinate the development and revision of the communications Master Plan and implements the requirements and established policy.
  • You will manage, develop, and implement IT/C plans in support of operational plans, force protection, and disaster preparedness.
  • You will manage the implementation of emergency communication capabilities in support of exercise and contingency operations, providing a focal point for inter-agency communications liaison.
  • You will provide full spectrum supervisory duties to United States military, civilian, and host nation civilian personnel.
  • You will oversee the regional data center which requires 24/7/365 monitoring and reporting of any planned maintenance and its potential impacts as well as any other unforeseen outages, and service interruptions.
  • You will develop strategic goals and objectives and advise the command on policy and planning on IT/C services and/or issues.
  • You will oversee the coordination of all project managers to ensure the accomplishment of approved IT/C projects with other military services, Marine Corps users, Government of Japan (GOJ) representatives, and commercial agencies.
  • You will conduct of technical inspections for projects in progress and ensures compliance with requirements and specifications during test and evaluation
  • You will track and monitor the progress of communications projects against plans, requirements, quality measures, and standard processes.
  • You will develop plans for the set-up and operation of new IT/C infrastructure and develop technical specifications/cost proposals for procurement of contractual services.
  • You will provide staff supervision for Branch budget execution and ensures the timely expenditure of funds in support of IT/C services/projects.
