This job involves leading a team of IT cybersecurity experts at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service to conduct advanced digital forensic investigations for criminal and counterintelligence cases.
You'll supervise the collection and analysis of digital evidence using specialized tools, ensure everything follows legal standards for court use, and advise on performance and technical matters.

You will serve as a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist in the Cyber Directorate of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Experience assisting in the supervision of computer forensic examinations in support of criminal or counterintelligence investigations.
This includes performing advanced forensic techniques to analyze digital media; using industry-standard tools to collect, process, and preserve digital evidence; identifying key information from deleted files, user activity, and malware; ensuring evidence handling and chain of custody protocols are followed; and documenting findings for use in legal proceedings.
