This job involves leading a team of intelligence officers across a region, managing the exchange of security information between local governments, private companies, and federal agencies to protect the homeland.
The role requires supervising up to 20 staff, ensuring compliance with rules for handling sensitive data, and building strong partnerships with law enforcement and intelligence groups.

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence & Analysis (I&A), Field Intelligence Directorate.
The primary purpose of this position serves as the Regional Director for a geographic region and supervises up to 20 geographically dispersed Intelligence Officers assigned to State and Major Urban Area Fusion Centers (Fusion Centers).
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess the specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: To qualify for this position, you must have one year of specialized experience which is defined as providing leadership to State and Major Urban Area Fusion Centers (Fusion Centers) and advocating for Fusion Center information needs with law enforcement and intelligence organizations.
Such experience may include: Develop and recommend procedures for evaluating the information holdings of state and local partners, to include non-traditional sources of information residing in State and Local governments.
Ensure compliance with statues and regulations for handling classified information, intelligence oversight and third-party access and release form a fusion center.

As a Supervisory Intelligence Operations Specialist, GS-0132-15, your typical work assignments may include: Coordinates relationships and overall management and administration of the two-way flow of timely, accurate, actionable, homeland security intelligence and information between SLTT governments, private sector, DHS Components, and the National IC and Law Enforcement Communities.
Prepares and presents briefings. Prepares and analyzes reports, responses to queries, justifications, and background papers on the technical aspects of areas of expertise and assignment.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short-term and/or long-term priorities, and prepares overall plans/schedules for accomplishment of objectives.
Oversees a full range of supervisory, personnel management, and human resources management functions within the region to ensure efficient and effective application of personnel to region missions, support functions and organizational programs.
Develops, synchronizes, and implements field and region strategic planning and provides timely execution of intelligence programs to achieve the overall goals, objectives and priorities of DHS, I&A, and the field.
