Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of HR advisors who handle employee and labor relations issues in the U.S.

Marine Corps, such as resolving conflicts, managing grievances, and advising on performance problems.

You'll provide expert guidance to managers and employees on tough workplace situations and ensure fair handling of disputes.

  • Knowledge of grievance procedures and options for conflict resolution

  • Relevant paid, unpaid, or volunteer experience building HR competencies

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HR SPEC (EMPLOYEE RELATIONS/LABOR RELATIONS) in the Administration & Resources Management Division of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Overseeing complex legal problems and providing advice and assistance on management-employee relations, labor practices, administrative and negotiated grievances, performance management AND/OR employee counseling.

  • You will be responsible for directly supervising a staff of entry/developmental to journey level Employee and Labor Relations advisors.
  • You will personally provide difficult management advisory services to a variety of managerial and supervisory levels within service commands, staff agencies, or offices.
  • You will independently resolve difficult issues and problems requiring consideration of the total human resources program.
  • You will advise and assist employees, managers, and supervisors on grievance procedures and appropriate options for proper resolution of conflicts or problems.
  • You will review and advise management on performance plans and provide technical information on performance management systems.
