About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, located at Desmond T Doss Health Clinic.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: managing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems; managing front desk operations with a focus on provider schedules, template management, and appointment optimization; planning, coordinating, and overseeing administrative and clinical support operations within a healthcare setting.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Major Duties:

  • Serve as a Supervisory Health System Specialist, with responsibilities to analyze and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of programs and functions.
  • Develop and manage the Performance Improvement Review (PIR) metrics for a robust health clinic.
  • Provide command staff with qualitative and quantitative information from which the most cost-effective, efficient, and highest quality healthcare services can be implemented.
  • Analyze and manage the complete lifecycle of budget formulation and execution, utilizing financial systems and generating insightful reports.
  • Develop, implement, and refine policies and procedures to drive organizational efficiency, ensure compliance, and improve the quality of healthcare service delivery
  • Exercise supervision over the daily activities of full-time staff of civilian employees assigned to assist in carrying out the functions of the division.
