Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team in a military logistics unit, overseeing supply operations like ordering equipment, managing inventory, and providing customer support to ensure everything runs smoothly for the Space Force.

It's a first-level supervisor role where you'll spend at least a quarter of your time managing people and making sure the team follows rules and meets needs.

A good fit would be someone with experience in supply chain or logistics who enjoys organizing teams and solving practical problems in a structured environment.

Key Requirements

  • At least 1 year of specialized experience in supply management equivalent to GS-04 level, including requisitioning, equipment management, inspections, demand processing, records maintenance, and customer service

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

The primary purpose of this position as First-level Supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over supervisory employees assigned to 21st Logistics Readiness Squadron, Material Management Flight, Customer Support Section.

In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Supervisory General Supply Specialist, Series 2001.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower broadband NH-01 equivalent to lower grade (GS-04), within the Federal Civil Service.

Specialized experience is described as knowledge of supply regulations, policies procedures, techniques and methods to include requisitioning, requirements, equipment management, inspection activities, demand processing, records maintenance, and customer service.

Knowledge of logistical functions, operations, systems, program requirements and work methods. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management and, EO regulations, practices and procedures.

OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position.

Major Duties:

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.

Plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Equipment Accountability Element, Customer Support Liaison Element, within the Logistics Readiness Squadron, ensuring Customer Support complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

Represents the Customer Support and Equipment accountability elements with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Directs and conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns.
