Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to plan, test, and evaluate advanced missile and weapon systems for the Navy's Strategic Systems Programs, including managing budgets, schedules, and risks for complex projects.

A good fit would be an experienced engineer who enjoys supervising mixed government and contractor teams and has a background in defense or technical program management.

It's ideal for someone detail-oriented with strong leadership skills who can handle high-stakes planning and execution.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing professional engineering skills to perform testing and evaluation - to include developing and executing a Test & Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and utilizing program management skills to manage budgets and schedules for complex programs.

  • You will act as the Flight Test Execution Lead and Test Planning Branch Head.
  • You will supervise a government-contractor team and lead the team to develop test and evaluation execution planning document for all program level testing.
  • You will lead efforts to manage the test and evaluation risk process.
  • You will develop system engineering policies to enable the branch to comply with high level test data collection, evaluate system performance and assess system and their associated requirements flow down.
  • You will plan, budget, and manage missile and weapon system modification management efforts and studies for the unit/section.
  • You will lead and manage the associared contract procurement for necessary engineering services to implement this effort and the associated budget via the SSP Program Planning, Budget and Execution processes.
