Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers and technicians to oversee major repair and maintenance projects for submarines at a naval shipyard detachment in Guam.

You'll handle planning, scheduling, and problem-solving to ensure work gets done efficiently and meets high standards.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-12 level or equivalent, including technical oversight of engineering projects for ship or submarine repair, modification, or overhaul
  • Basic professional engineering qualifications as defined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)
  • Ability to exercise administrative and technical supervision over engineering subordinates
  • Skills in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling work for a team of engineers and technicians

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the GUAM DETACHMENT of PEARL HARBOR NAVAL SHIPYARD & IMF of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing experience providing technical engineering project oversight (e.g.

planning, organizing, sequencing, directing work assignments) and resolving multi-disciplinary technical engineering problems during the repair, modification or overhaul of submarines or surface ships.

  • You will exercise both administrative and technical supervision over subordinates for professional engineering work.
  • You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
  • You will manage and leads a team of engineers and engineering technicians who support Guam Detachment with major repair and maintenance submarine projects.
  • You will design, develop, implement, monitor and assess policies, programs and practices needed to ensure services meet requirements and expectations.
  • You will serve as liaison and team integrator to independently resolve issues and/or problems.
