Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Engineering and Planning Department Code of PSNS and IMF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience as a professional engineer planning and coordinating ship or submarine maintenance, repair, modernization or overhaul projects.

  • You will serve as the primary representative of the Engineering and Planning Department and will be responsible for guiding, coordinating, monitoring and reporting on the engineering and planning efforts for assigned projects.
  • You will coordinate Shipyard efforts associated with pre-overhaul tests, inspections, and shipchecks.
  • You will resolve issues or conflicts occuring during development of the work package, such as overlapping functions.
  • You will supervise assigned personnel assuring production and accuracy requirements are met.
  • You will work with assigned Project Management personnel to develop a Plan of Action and Milestones to guide Engineering and Planning Department efforts for successful project completion.
  • You will represent the Project Engineering Manager and the Integrated Planning Manager as necessary at all project oriented meetings involving status, performance, or progress.
