Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Metrology Division as Metrology Engineering Product Branch Head of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band NM-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Provide authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues and ensures engineering requirements are met; 2) Develops project-planning objectives for engineering development of current and long range programs; 3) Perform or directs technical analyses required during the development phase; 4) Assist in the preparation, planning and development of integrated logistics support plans for assigned systems; 5) Maintains continuous contact with research and development personnel in order to be informed on all new engineering and scientific developments of assigned systems; 6) Organize and perform technical reviews to ensure adequate resources for assigned systems.

  • You will direct and manage assigned programs to ensure metrology and calibration products and services are delivered on schedule, within budgeted cost, and performed according to documented technical requirements.
  • You will be responsible to identify, satisfy, and justify staffing requirements within the Metrology Engineering Division.
  • You will be technical advisor/leader of the NAWCAD Patuxent River Metrology Engineering Development Branch.
  • You will identify, plan, evaluate, and prescribe corrective action for metrology deficiencies/incidents of significant proportion reported through appropriate reporting systems to improve reliability, maintainability, safety, and economy.
  • You will provide technical professional expertise and oversight to ensure the latest advancements in engineering technology are considered and implemented in work planning.
