Marshals Service's Asset Forfeiture Division, where you'll advise top executives on handling money and assets seized from criminals, manage budgets, and oversee financial operations to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
It's a senior supervisory role focused on improving financial processes and supporting the sale or management of forfeited property.
A good fit would be someone with extensive experience in government finance, strong leadership skills, and a knack for solving complex money-related problems in a law enforcement context.
The selectee for this Supervisory Financial Specialist position serves as a senior advisor on the Asset Forfeiture Division (AFD) Executive Team and works closely with the Assistant Director and Deputy Assistant Director to address a wide range of complex and sensitive issues.
This position is located in the Asset Forfeiture Division / Arlington, Virginia.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.
The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional).
No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. One year at the GS-14 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 grade level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the specialized experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply.
To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Providing administrative, technical, and human resources management supervision to staff members to include but not limited to career development, performance management, and disciplinary actions; Evaluating financial management practices, trends, and technology and recommending changes where necessary to streamline or improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the services provided; Managing a variety of financial functions including financial reporting, obligations, disbursements, funds control, and month-end close processes; Directing the formulation, interpretation, and execution of budget and fiscal policies, standards, and procedures; AND Guiding a program or team that offers business solutions and procurement services primarily for the management and disposition of seized and forfeited assets.

As a Supervisory Financial Specialist at the GS-0501-15 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Administration of financial management to include establishment of financial policies, procedures, system updates, and training.
Budget formulation and execution. Management of obligations, accruals, expenditures, and vendor/party processing.
Procurement and administration of contracts primarily to support the custody, management, and disposal of seized and forfeited assets.
