Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing and advising on all phases of budget administration (e.g.

formulation of budget, cost estimates, presenting budget requests); developing financial plans for programs and activities; AND providing financial management and financial oversight for an organization.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will conduct, review, and provide oversight of financial management performance efforts to ensure the Command is in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organizations programs and administrative operations.
  • You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets and provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization’s programs and activities.
  • You will facilitate the development of risk assessments, validate control tests, and ensure adequate controls exist, are functioning properly, and adhere to policy in support of clean audit efforts.
  • You will provide formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities.
  • You will review and evaluate budget requests control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
  • You will develop performance standards, evaluate employee performance and provide technical and administrative oversight, advice, and instruction.
