Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage and maintain EPA facilities in Washington, DC, including overseeing operations, budgets, and projects to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.

Full Job Description

This position is in Office of Finance and Administration, Office of the Chief Facilities & Security Officer, DC Facilities Management and Services Division.

About: Office of Finance and Administration This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements, including any requirements described in the Education section, by the closing date of this announcement.

To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as managing a large facility operations portfolio, including operation, maintenance, planning and management of facilities and building systems; and overseeing or managing facility operations specialists or equivalent positions.

You will need the following competencies in order to perform the duties of this position successfully: Facilities Operations and Management.* Managing Employees. Program/Project Management/Evaluation.

Building and Construction.* Budget and Cost Management. Stakeholder Management. Administration and Management. Contract Management. Customer Service.

Physical Security.* *You will be evaluated on these critical competencies. Major Duties:

You will: Direct, coordinate, and oversee facilities operations and services through subordinate supervisors.

Oversee the suitability of assigned equipment and facilities from the standpoint of maintenance, efficiency and equipment reliability, and perform budget analysis, reviews, and recommend specific areas needing replacement and or modification or further technical design review.

Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organizational unit, including developing and defending an annual operational plan for Division activities, and establishing policies and procedures.

Make technical and management decisions on facilities projects to ensure that the needs of client program offices are met with proper engineering, budgetary, and administrative guidelines.
