Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Managing a facilities maintenance program, planning, budgeting, and executing maintenance, repair, and minor construction projects.; Performing first-level supervisory duties for a civilian workforce assigning work, setting performance standards, conducting performance appraisals, approving leave, and initiating or recommending disciplinary actions; Coordinating with diverse stakeholders, such as contractors, engineers, and tenant commands, to execute facility projects and resolve complex operational and maintenance issues.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible with the assistance of subordinate planning staff members responsible for the planning, budgeting, coordination and execution of programs in excess of $16 million dollars annually.
  • You will execute the budget and workload with labor resources from assigned civil servant trades personnel, military self-help personnel aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, and resources outside the command.
  • You will be responsible for making decisions to contract out work when the scope of the work exceeds in-house capability or when it is more cost effective or timely to contract out the work.
  • You will plan, coordinate and execute a highly complex facilities Maintenance Program as outlined in the Facilities Maintenance Branch Performance Work Statement.
  • You will provide direction and continuity in all areas of maintenance management by making local policy decisions, approving procedures and operations, as well as providing technical advice and management assistance to superiors and subordinates.
  • You will consult with various organizational commanders and staff officers in planning, formulating, executing, and managing all Facilities Maintenance Branch programs.
  • You may provide oversight of mission execution planning at conferences, seminars, pre-construction conferences, official inspections, housing reviews, pollution abatement meeting, etc.
  • You will keep in constant contact and serve as a main liaison between Public Works Center (PWC) and Southwest Engineering Field Division on all specific work.
  • You are responsible for all aspects of production control providing technical guidance and management assistance to subordinate units
