Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin.

  • Serves as the Supervisory Environmental Protection Specialist in the Environmental Management Branch within the Environmental Division.
  • Supervises program implementation designed to achieve, maintain, or exceed compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations and a variety of environmental programs.
  • Oversees implementation of Team responsibilities of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Provides technical guidance on all assigned environmental matters to sub installations.
  • Supervises and provides technical oversight for professional and technical personnel engaged in the accomplishment of assigned programs.
  • Coordinates and supervises highly technical and politically complex environmental program areas.
