Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to oversee shipbuilding and repair projects for the Navy, ensuring that contractors and crews fix complex systems on naval vessels while managing budgets and solving technical issues.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Industrial Specialist (Shipbuilding) in the Waterfront Operations of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing complex systems aboard naval vessels and coordinating work of all activities (i.e.

private contractors, ship's force, AITs, etc.) to ensure systems are repaired; 2) Reviewing funds and accounting procedures to avoid misappropriation of funds; and 3) Evaluating technical and complex problem areas that occur during ship repair.

  • You will manage various types of contracts related to industrial production operations (e.g., ship repair, overhaul, or maintenance).
  • You will assess current or future facility and industrial equipment required for operations (e.g., repair, rebuild, or overhaul) to resolve difficult production problems.
  • You set priorities and coordinate work operations to meet deadlines and maintain reasonable workloads for employees.
