Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers and technicians to oversee the repair, maintenance, and modernization of Navy surface ships, ensuring projects run smoothly and meet technical standards.

You'll plan work schedules, assign tasks, and act as the main contact for specific ship classes like LPD and CVN.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Amphib Project Engineering Branch (Code 222A), Availability Support Division (Code 220), Engineering Department (Code 200) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of engineering principles, practices and methods obtained from and coupled with extensive engineering experience.

Experience effectively assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, establishing and maintaining metrics and measures, and ensuring subordinates have the capabilities and resources to accomplish their tasks.

Experience supervising a varied workforce composed of engineers, technicians, and contractors with the ability to organize and direct.

Experience providing guidance and technical oversight for delivery of maintaining proper performance of shipboard systems and components for which MARMC has installation, repair and/or modernization responsibility.

Experience managing Project Engineering support during the planning and execution of contracted repair maintenance and modernization of surface ships contracted work packages.

  • You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare work completion schedules.
  • You will serve as the single point of contact for Project Engineering within the LPD/LSD/LHD/CVN/FFG Class Project Engineering Community.
  • You will ensure work specifications technically comply with General Specification for Overhaul of Surface Ships (GS) and other naval regulations, specifications, and guidance.
  • You will lead team investigations into urgent or complex programmatic issues.
  • You will track measures of effectiveness and/or measures of performance for efficiencies.
