Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage and improve facilities and infrastructure at a naval aviation maintenance center, ensuring projects run smoothly without interrupting aircraft repairs.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE MGMT DEPT of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Demonstrating experience serving as a primary technical authority for large-scale industrial projects; 2) Interpreting complex technical drawings, applying regulations and design standards to ensure equipment installations do not disrupt operations; 3) Managing the full project lifecycle, including overseeing budgets, supervising professional staff, and directing contractor activities; and 4) Communicating complex information and delivering briefings to senior leadership.

  • You will ensure the sustainment, restoration and modernization (SRM) of depot facilities and infrastructure.
  • You will plan and develop statements of work that minimize disruption of ongoing aircraft overhaul and maintenance activities.
  • You will make decisions in relation to scope, schedule, budget and contract recommendations to prevent conflicts, scope creep, contract modifications and work stops.
  • You will ensure that completed work meets contractual requirements, identifying any technical, safety and environmental issues for resolution.
  • You will serve as conduit for information regarding project activities and the affected building occupants.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating, coaching, facilitating, problem solving, integrating, and tasking of subordinates.
