Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS LEAD ENGINEER in the SUPPORT EQUIPMENT FLEET SUPPORT TEAM of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following Specialized Experience: 1.

Experience within the last three years providing senior-level engineering expertise for Test Program Set (TPS) acquisition and sustainment, in-service engineering, design and development, and life-cycle support of TPS and associated software for complex naval aviation systems and subsystems.

Mastery-level technical knowledge of Test Program Sets (TPS) utilized on Automated Test Equipment (ATE), such as the Consolidated Automated Support Systems Family of Testers (CASS FoT) and Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE), to provide In-Service Engineering (ISE) sustainment for the development, diagnosis, repair, and fault isolation of advanced avionics, and design and development of acquisition TPSs.

Expert skill in program management overseeing multi-disciplinary technical teams, to include developing and managing budgets, forecasting resource requirements, and executing complex engineering projects to meet critical Fleet readiness goals and major acquisition milestones.

Demonstrated ability to serve as a technical authority, effectively communicating complex engineering and programmatic information to diverse audiences at all levels, from mentoring and guiding engineers to presenting decisive briefings and collaborating on solutions with senior executive leadership and industry partners.

  • You will serve as a supervisor, technical advisor, and spokesperson for the team.
  • You will negotiate, advise, and collaborate with all levels of officials in industry relating to your program, policies and procedures to determine the impact and requirements of current and proposed engineering actions.
  • You will assist in the development and executes the planning, directing, and prioritizing of activities within your program and, therefore, must routinely adapt to frequent and unpredictable changes in programs and funds
  • You will provide resources and processes to support and maintain the intended mission capability; to maintain inherent design capabilities of the systems at the minimum expenditure of resources
  • You will lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing the workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
  • You will be responsible for continuity, efficiency, and effectiveness of the overall engineering operational efforts of the team and ensure the team is sustained with trained certified personnel that satisfy operational requirements
  • You will evaluate work performance of subordinates and carry out EEO policies and procedures.
