Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Atlanta Field Operations, Center of Excellence and Expertise, Consumer Products and Mass Merchandising, located in: Baltimore, MD Detroit, MI Denver, CO Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Advising internal and external stakeholders on complex trade issues, violations, and enforcement procedures.

Enforcing measures such as additional duties, tariffs, or quotas to address unfair trade practices.

Analyzing customs documents and applying/interpreting customs laws, regulations, requirements and procedures.

Determining rates of duty, Classification of merchandise within the chapters and sections Entry Specialists are responsible for and entry requirements.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and directing administrative operations performed by a Center of Excellence and Expertise team tasked with providing technical expertise about admissibility, control, entry and export of merchandise and revenue collection, post-release processes, and overall management and marketing of various automated systems.

This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

Typical work assignments include: Providing expert technical advice to subordinates and higher-level CBP officials on the entry process.

Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.

Monitoring and evaluating employees' work products; establishing or recommending performance standards and evaluations.

Monitoring and evaluating the delivery of services to customers and the methods and techniques used to provide them.

Developing and implementing plans to improve the delivery of services, individually and with other Entry Supervisors, and through process improvement teams.
