About: The Office of Water This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements, including any requirements described in the Education section, by the closing date of this announcement.
In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as leading a project or team to address drinking water and wastewater system emergencies; participating in/making recommendations for staffing Incident Command System positions; participating in the planning or evaluation of drinking water and wastewater system emergencies; and participating in the assessment of physical threats to water infrastructure (e.g.
natural disasters, contamination incidents, malicious activity, or other physical hazards). You will be assessed on the following competencies: Incident Management.

Administration and Management.* *You will be evaluated on these critical competencies.

You will: Serve as a principal policy advisor on effective techniques to improve the security and resilience of water and wastewater systems to physical risks.
Perform supervisory personnel management responsibilities to ensure work is accomplished. Direct program and operational planning and development to effectively meet established goals.
Oversee and provide technical direction for contract, extramural, and resource management to ensure policies and regulations are followed.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
